REALIZATION LEADS TO DEFINITION
Every man is a product of his choices and every choice is made from an
influence which could be internal or external, direct or indirect.
There is a definition given to
man before he was created and even after he was created God still echoed this
out loud. Gen. 1: 26; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Taking some moment to ponder on these scripture I keep asking
myself “What’s the first thing every man is meant to realise about
himself/herself”?
Looking deep into the above stated verse, it isn’t even the
truth of being created to have dominion, subdue, multiply etc. But the key lies
in the first statement made by God which is “Realising he is created in the
image of God and after His likeness”. These solve a lot about identity crisis,
character deformation, weakness to sin and lots more.
Realization is the bed bedrock and foundation to a definite
life of definition. In most cases we have run after Identity as a power, a
resource, an influence and lots more of mistaken presumptions. But NO that’s not
what it’s meant to be.
Psalm 82:6; I say you are gods; you are all children of the
Most High. Wow!! If these was said by a preacher without it being in the word
of God I personally might have picked a stone and target his forehead so I can
be the 21st century David. But this was a statement made by God
himself in conformity to what was earlier stated by Him in Gen. 1:26.
Mistaken identity and identity crisis has been a major issue
individuals are battling with all over the world and presently more predominant
in the church because everyone want to look like some or behave like some or be
someone and therefore leads to a loss of true sense of Identity and frustration
of picking up an Identity that you can’t manage because in the first place it
isn’t yours to begin with.
Psalms. 139:13-17(N.L.T); You made all the delicate, inner
parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making
me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous – how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven
together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my
life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day
passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be
numbered.
Who is this talking about? It’s You and I of course. God
specially designed us in image and likeness to be unique, special and above to
be Him here on earth.
Realizing these truth even as a Born Again Christian gives us
more influence and power to exercise our 5 fold mandate of being fruitful, multiplying, replenishing
the earth, and subdue it: and having dominion over all the works of His hands.
These will be carried out with
ease and humility.
We are not created to be a second person of another, we are
not created to be who someone else was but we are created be supreme in image
and likeness as God is. Don’t long to be anyone nor wish to be a copy of another
but instead with these realizations of your uniqueness in Christ. Explore the
best of yourself in Christ; explore the passion of your gifting and talents
with all sense of humility and grace. Remain thankful to God always for making
you a god here on earth and establishing you in power and grace.
Redefine who you are if you haven’t always been yourself and
walk in the fullness of your new person. God bless you.
